The Bayport Fire Departtment and Fire District hosted it's annual Installation dinner

at Villa Lombardi's restaurant in Holbrook, NY on Saturday January 10, 2009.  Glen Bailargeon was sworn in as Chief of the Department.

        
This year the Department awarded a Unit Citation for the crews involved with the Battle on the Bay race in August 2008. Those awarded were:

Firefighter John Baum, Ex Captain Jason Feinberg, Ex Chief John Hoek, Ex Water Rescue Captain Jim Rice, Lieutenant Jeff Saperstein, Mike Padilla, Lieutenant Barry Lipsky, Rick Magale, Rob Samson, Brian Samson, Rob Marconti. In addition to the Unit citation, Divers Rob Samson and Rick Magale received a special Meritorious Award for the incident.
        
Ladies Aux. President Chrissy Mars received an award for her dedicated service.         
Jake Beebe was the recipient of the 2008 Chiefs award.         
Bill Pancirelli was Awarded Firefighter of the Year for 2008.
